0 Strange Bugs Being Sold in Mukdahan

I was at the market waiting to video the aerobics one afternoon and was killing time talking to a friend of mine who is a vendor there. I noted some really strange metallic green insects that she was selling. I assumed that these were some delicacy since the local people eat many different varieties of insects. I found out in this case it was not true. They are called "mangkop" and mostly people get them for their kids to play with. They might tie a string to them and fly them around on the tether or some other play ( I can't imagine what.). One woman bought some to release them as a merit.
